Three different processing approaches

  • Volume shaping: draw the dip and recovery as an envelope.
  • Spectral ducking: reduce competing frequency regions using the sidechain signal.
  • Ring modulation: multiply the source and sidechain signals to change the spectrum.

SideKick also provides dual-band and Mid/Side controls. These offer ways to focus the processing rather than treating every part of a sound equally.
